Thanks to all my readers those who encourage me, and those who tell me critical comments that are well taken to make this blog better. Also If I repeat myself about certain friends, characters and the occasional nemesis bear with me. Thus by repeating-  it gives my new readers that join my blog everyday ,a chance to get up to date about who I am commenting about.
And I am still writing this post from an undisclosed location(smiles)!!!

Here go my Tidbits:

I want to thank my Beverly Hills neighbor and famous Hollywood Director, Brett Ratner for sending me an advance copy of the latest Woody Allen film "Midnight in Paris" it was not bad, not great but it passes the mustard.//the actors are: Rachel McAdam, Owen Wilson, Carla Bruni, Marion Cotillard, Kathy Bates e Adrien Brody/ and just by the name you will not be surprised that it was totally filmed in Paris. I will include a short clip of it!!!

Since I mentioned Rodeo Drive, here are my top favorite shopping streets in Europe, not necessarily in the order of importance:

The Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré is a street in Paris, France. Although relatively narrow and nondescript (especially in comparison to the Champs-Élysées), it is cited as being one of the most fashionable streets in the world thanks to the presence of virtually every major global fashion house. Like nearby Avenue Montaigne, the street is consistently dedicated, throughout its length, to high-fashion stores and other exclusive establishments. And if you are in the know how, you would stay at L'Hôtel Le Bristol..
right on the Rue!!!!

VIA MONTENAPOLEONE(Milano) Via Monte Napoleone, also spelt as Via Montenapoleone, and nicknamed 'Montenapo' by the Milanese, is an elegant and expensive street in Milan, Italy- and those that know would stay at the Four Seasons(Via Gesu) in front of Brioni(jackets and suits for the Mafia and of course for JG too) and is right around the corner from Montenapo!!!for me is the best street in the world!!!

Bond Street is a major shopping street in central London which runs through Mayfair from Piccadilly in the south to Oxford Street in the north. It is one of the principal streets in the West End shopping district and is more upmarket than nearby Regent Street and Oxford Street.. Technically "Bond Street" does not exist: The southern section is known as Old Bond Street, and the northern section, which is rather more than half the total length, is known as New Bond Street. This distinction, however, is not generally made in everyday usage.. and if y0u know, you would stay at Claridges, around the corner from Bond Street.

Via Condotti (officially Via dei Condotti) is a busy and fashionable street of Rome, Italy.[1] In Roman times it was one of the streets that crossed the ancient Via Flaminia and enabled people who transversed the Tiber to reach the Pincio hill. It begins at the foot of the Spanish steps and is named after conduits or channels which carried water to the Baths of Agrippa. Today, it is the street which contains the greatest number of Rome-based Italian fashion retailers, equivalent to Milan's Via Montenapoleone, Paris' Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré, Florence's Via de' Tornabuoni or London's Bond Street. And if you are anybody you would stay at the Hassler.

Even by Geneva's affluent standards, Rue du Rhone (RhÃ$)(4$)ne is sérieusement rich. A compact Fifth Avenue, this Swiss strip (and its environs) is dotted with designer boutiques and powerhouse financial institutions like UBS, which explains the ticker of suits on the sidewalk. Here's where they spend till they bend. And the places to stay would be ...The Mandarin Oriental(formerly Hotel du Rhone) and of course Prince Al Waleed's Four Seasons Hotel!!!

Five ways to distinguish yourself from the rest, there are more but here are a few:

  1. You should put on the best version of yourself when you go out in the world because that is a show of respect to the other people around you.
  2. A gentleman today has to work. People who do not work are so boring and are usually bored. You have to be passionate, you have to be engaged and you have to be contributing to the world.
  3. Manners are very important and actually knowing when things are appropriate. I always open doors for women(and not the bodyguards), I carry their coat, I make sure that they're walking on the inside of the street. Stand up when people arrive at and leave the dinner table.
  4. Don't be pretentious or racist or sexist or judge people by their background.
  5. A man should never wear shorts in the city. Flip-flops and shorts in the city are never appropriate. Shorts should only be worn on the tennis court or on the beach.

Eerie, I did not want to write about this but I had to, recently I had a person I met at a private airport, tell me that she trained horses for someone rich.  I immediately thought of Athina Onassis and her husband Alvaro Alfonso de Miranda Neto(Doda), and that was the case. I have a connection with her late grandfather, Aristotle Onassis, having acquired in the past from the Latsis family, the Villa in (Glyfada)-Athens that was once owned by Mr Onassis, since then at my mother's advice we sold it... For as the famous blue blood family, The Kennedys, The Onassis too are cursed., here is the latest:

Even the least superstitious of Onassis watchers will find it difficult to ignore those who speak of an "Onassis Curse" as news from Brazil comes to confirm another tragic death of someone associated with the Onassis family. This time it was the sad news that Cibele Dorsa,36, model, actress, singer and authoress-- whom Olympic equestrian Doda Miranda abandoned to marry multi-millionaire heiress Athina Onassis--has committed suicide in Sao Paulo by jumping out the window of her seventh floor flat in the Real Parque neighbourhood. And it seems Athina like her mother Cristina, has picked men who marry them for their fortune!!!!

My Parting Shots:

Prada’s Net Profits for 2010 Up a Record 150 Percent
And this, before the flatforms and banana skirts hit stores....so nice, give me more!!!

And while on the of the subject of give me more,,,Demi Moore in her heyday as an actresses was
known as "give me Moore" for she always asked for more money, perks and more perks, she was never satisfied!!!!

Talento, charme e simpatia provam que beleza não é tudo-Talent, Charm and niceness, or as the Americans would say, being simpatica, prove that beauty is not all.

Mouna Ayoub was an impoverished Lebanese student and waitress when she met her husband in Paris in 1976.(pic courtesy of life magazine)

Recently I received the  100th anniversary edition of Womens’ Wear Daily! Oversized and resplendent with a cover crammed full of familiar faces from the last century in fashion, I delighted in reading this tome.

Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing is a 1955 American drama-romance film. Set in 1949-50 Hong Kong, it tells the story of a married, but separated, American reporter (played by William Holden), who falls in love with a Eurasian doctor originally from China (played by Jennifer Jones), only to encounter prejudice from her family and from Hong Kong society.
I love this film ,,I could watch it forever!!!! William Holden was magnificent!!!

Those who know me are aware that I detest Tatoos- more so on  on a gorgeous woman, is like spraying graffiti on a Rembrandt painting. And Take note all you lovebirds! Don't ever make the mistake of tattooing anything on your body that links you to another person---besides maybe your mom--b/c you never know...I have seen many a girl scrambling and not knowing what to do when they leave or are left by BF or husband.

In one of my favorite movies, Rita Hayworth stated before kissing Humphrey Bogart " I am going to show you what yum yum means...here is yum and here is yum ..and this is yum yum. And wow it was quite
a kiss!!!!

I rest my case about Dr Brandt comment about gravity at 30 years old!!!!!Sem Comentarios!!!

This actually happened, I was sent this yesterday.
..mr. boss said, "when i first met her several years ago, she said life is miserable. Now i understand why. Because she is miserable." ...that's correct...i believe what you sent to the mysterious universe is what you get back from the mysterious universe...not sure what happened to the poor girl...she becomes worse and worse...G-d bless her...

"casse toi pauvre con"
This won't tell you much if you're not French, but this phrase (which means something like "hit the road, you jerk!") has now become so famous that they even make graffiti out of it

A little food (smiles)....

They say the year of the Rabbitt is for good luck?

This thought came to my mind about the manners I mentioned. In Mexico in the old days, when it was safe. If you were walking your girlfriend and she was walking on the outside, and you in the inside, people would yell, "la estas vendiendo" you are selling her" meaning is not polite to have your gf, woman friend or  wife on the outside of the street(pavement)...and I totally agree. Where have all good manners gone????

A little more food(smiles) one of my favorites!!!

If you figure this out, it should be easy. What face goes in this bob haircut?, you get a little gold star, like my niece Tiffany used to get. if you can answer!!!! and by the way Tiffany got the answer, quite easily!!!

“Mad Men,” the three-time Emmy Award-winning drama, will not return to television until sometime early next year, AMC confirmed on Tuesday, because of a deepening dispute with the show’s creator, Matthew Weiner. Should I ask for my money back?  I win the auction to appear and now ,no show(smiles)..stay tuned!!! but Get It Together, Execs ..and yes, I am dissapointed as I wanted to see how I would look next to one of my all time favorites, Don Draper!!!!

It has been awhile since I quoted , Mr Jed Clampett of the Beverly Hillbillies fame, so here it is
"You'all come back now, hear" sit a spell"
till the next one.do  come back and I am always trying to entertain you, amuse you and enlighten you " JG loves  life, it is Fabulous, any better would be a sin"

More of my favorites images of Tel Aviv, our promenade has nothing to envy from those around the world, including the one in Ipanema and Leblon!!!!

I want to thank all those who follow my blog, and my blog is fast approaching 700 followers and garnering attention from around the world . Most recently i received an email from Le Figaro, one of the most respected publications in France, asking JG if he would write a blog for them.
I am writing from an undisclosed location - for secrecy is part of the business world at times!!! this is to avoid copycats or those who wish to get a free ride...no, no free rides!!!
And from emails, you did miss me!!!(smiles)

Here go my tidbits:

I am reading again, all five of these Biographies......I recommend all five.. but I loved Fellini, and of course BB is one my muses..and what can I say about Coco Chanel,,she was ahead of her time!!!!

Designer, director, actor, photographer: is there anything that Lagerfeld can't do?

The IPO(Initial Public Offering) the Prada deal, the company will be able to sell its shares for a higher price in Hong Kong than it could achieve in Milan or London, because Asian investors “get” the story of rapidly-growing consumption of luxury goods in the region. “People out here can see the growth. They can walk out of their offices and see the tai-tais dropping thousands in the shopping malls,” this is in reference to the free-spending wives of wealthy Hong Kong men.
Even so, the omens for simply getting a deal done are good. L’Occitane, the French cosmetics and perfumery company, which like Prada has a strong brand presence in Asia, raised $700m in a Hong Kong listing last May. Its shares attracted strong demand from investors and have since surged in value.

noun    1.  A term used in Chinese circles for  supreme wife (implying situation where a man is  wealthy enough to have several "wives')  but no longer strictly interpreted.  Term now applies to citizens of the world with an Asian viewpoint  who have bounds of time and money.   A Tai Tai is a privileged lady of means.   2.   Supreme of the Supreme is its literal translation.  The term  implies respect.  >> more

To qualify as a Tai Tai, one has to have lots of leisure time, lots of money to spend and lots of gossip to exchange.  A Tai Tai would win if Shopping were an Olympic event

As soon as they can afford it, Asians go out and buy that Bensee (Mercedes-Benz) or Boe-Mah (BMW), that (mini) McMansion, and the latest designer wardrobe (many seem to like Prada and LV). I’m not kidding! Country club membership and a prep school education for the kids are also part of the picture.

Shiksa (Yiddish: שיקסע, Polish: siksa) or shikse, is a Yiddish and Polish word that has moved into English usage, mostly in North American Jewish culture, as a term for a non-Jewish woman, initially pejorative but now often used satirically. Shiksa usually refers to an attractive gentile woman or girl who might be a temptation to Jewish men or boys, e.g., for dating, intermarriage, etc. Among orthodox Jews, the term may be used to describe young Jewish women who fail to follow orthodox religious precepts. The equivalent term for a non-Jewish male is shegetz.
In South America (Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay), the term "shiksa" is used by both Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews to indicate a housekeeper or maid and not simply a non-Jewish femal

Hamantaschen are a treat traditionally served for the Jewish holiday of Purim, which started Saturday(Sat, March 19, 2011 Adar II 13, 5771). Their triangular shape is meant to represent the ear, or hat, of Hamman, the minister to the Persian king whose defeat the holiday commemorates. Typical fillings include prunes, apricot jam, and poppy seeds. Our recipe is for a lighter, buttery version of the cookie, with a homemade prune filling. And by the way, if you find yourself at Tel Aviv’s Lehamim Bakery , marzipan, halvah, pistachio, or marshmallows (!), let’s be clear about one thing: You’re only eating hamantaschen if it is filled with poppy seeds...and we are!!!

While on the subject of Purim the custom is to dress up in a costume or dress as a character. And this year(5771) Goldstein went as a Mafia Don, thus the fancy diamond rings(smiles)..and notice my Elvis smirk(smiles)....it could mean I know something you do not(smiles)..and yes I do!!!!

There are few places in the world like Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills!!!! IT totally smells like old money and
nouveau riche money
And while in the subject of nouveau riche. here is the definition: (French for "new rich"), or new money, refers to a person who has acquired considerable wealth within his or her generation. ...they are usually quite gaudy!!!..a friend that I respect sent me this pic...well taken....Toda Rabah!!!!

U.S. former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, meanwhile, was in Israel for what she called a private visit, and she arrived at the Western Wall tunnels in the Old City of Jerusalem wearing a prominent Star of David necklace.( I like her and respect her)

"Je veux être une œuvre d'art vivante"- I want to be a living work of art(Marchesa Casati)"
This book is wonderful, BUY IT !!!!

A Czech model friend sent me a new video of the Black Eyed Peas, , "I just can't get enough" Fergies voice sounds great but the ending was not so great!!!

French jeunesse dorée (gilded youth)

jeunesse dorée (uncountable)
  1. Young people who are dazzlingly rich, elegant, etc.; the youthful part of fashionable society

J'aime ce film, je l'ai vu cinq fois- I love this film , I have seen it five times!!!!-
Pour Sacha (English: For Sasha) is a French film by Alexandre Arcady, released in 1991. It stars Sophie Marceau, Richard Berry, Gérard Darmon, Yael Abecassis and Ayelet Zurer. It takes place during the Six-Day War in 1967.

This design is by the Kaiser himself ...Karl Lagerfeld.. they are so elegant!!!

Ever wondered what men really think about your clothes?

And I do not want to rain in any young girls parade, but here is what Dr Fred Brandt, the Guru of Botox and as he likes to be called," a Prada Junkie"...here is his quote " at 22 a girl's face is changing , and at 30 is already dropping" dropping as in Isaac Newton theory of what goes up must come down (Gravity)...and I subscribe to his theory.

When this movie came out, Princess Sofia arrived late and missed this scene where Ric Ocasek sings in the background one of my favorite songs,,,so here it is again!!!!

The Olsens are reading the right book!!!!! And I liked reading this book, of course.

How Much Money Does It Take To Be Rich?..according to Gordon Gekko, Liquid " rich enough to have you own JET(and he meant a big JET, no a puny one)...50 a 100 million dollars, a player...keep in mind this movie was made in 1985 so 50-100 million would translate in today's money to 250-300 Million Dollars..point well taken Mr Gekko.

I do not dream much, but this could have been a dream, or a real occassion, here is my take: I was at a party at one of the fanciest Villas in the world, even though I do not drink , I did know that the 5,000 Euro Champagne bottles that were flowing like water, were the "The real McCoy", the best seafood and caviar was flown in(no imagination all rich parties are that way).. but the party was terribly grand. Lots of incredibly skinny Russian ladies(this Russian girls are everywhere) in floor-lenght dresses. Lots of diamanté on the dresses. And lots and lots of big diamond solitaires in all the colors. There were lots of people, very international- the sort of party where languages kept switching all the time. But the ending is all the same, fat , ugly ,bald and old guys whisking this girls away!!!! now , that brought me to reality and realised it was not a dream but again that phrase "  "The real McCoy". I rest my case!!! Like the real good movies from the past, I leave it up to your take!!!!

I will close this post by asking all of you to buy these album "Songs for Japan" as the proceeds go to help those unfortunate people that  lost dear ones and lost all their possessions because ot the tsunami and earthquake....G-d will love you but even than do it from the heart!!!

Till the next one, you all come back!!!!

More of my favorites places in Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv has been described as the Miami of the Middle East, which it sort of is but also as the Los Angeles of the Middle East too...the reality is that it has the best of both, specially the similarity of the weather of Marina del Rey or Santa Monica...here are a few more of my favorites views of Tel Aviv

How are you? Ma shelomkha מה שלומך

Here are my Tidbits:

The Festival Of Purim
Purim is a very special holiday, celebrating the miracle of Jewish survival. It is as great a miracle today as it was over 2000 years ago( The Jewish calendar date begins at sundown of the night beforehand)
2011:   March 19-20-(Jewish Year 5771)
במרץ הי"ט-במרץ העשרים

For years, I thought only one thing about the bandhgala. That it is an incredibly good-looking piece of formal wear for men...so I commisioned
Brioni to do some jackets for me, in black of course and in Shatoosh material....

A common myth is that Jerusalem is important to Islam. In fact it is important to Islam only when they can deprive the Jews and Christians from visiting it, such as when they fought the Christians in the Crusades and the Jews in modern times. During the hundreds of years that they possessed it, they neglected it and it was barely mentioned. They suddenly rediscovered it in 1948 when they ethnically cleansed it of Jews and barred Jews from visiting. I can assure you that if they get partial control of it in any peace agreement the number of Moslems who actually come to visit it will be close to zero. But sorry now that we have reclaimed it, we will not give back..it is our capital..it is ours.Jerusalem is our symbol, it is Israel!!!

Ferran Adria has been called the world's greatest chef. He is certainly one of the most creative. Gourmet magazine referred to Adria  as "the Salvador Dali of the kitchen". ..my two sisters and I we were granted a private meal at his restaurant, "El Bulli"..His restaurant, El Bulli, was recently named best restaurant in the world by the prestigious Restaurant magazine. Without a doubt, Ferran Adria  will hold a prominent place in culinary history...we were treated to the best Tapas(appetisers)..it was a combination of fish, gambas(shrimps)..boquerones(a small delicacy only found in Spain).../we are not big eaters so we skipped the main course..we all three shared  desert , a specialty called "Pastel El Bulli"(puff pastry of pineapple)!!!

Someone from the past, asked me to write again about the Four B's that women should

Vive La Crêpe -
French Connection Crêpes, which originated in Brittany, in northwest France, during the Middle Ages, are a thin, light, delicate pancake served as a meal or snack, any time of day. The word crêpe derives from the Latin crispus, which means "curled” or “wrinkled.”

I love this film!!!

Amadeo Modigliani, Self-portrait, 1919. “Modigliani should have been the father of a family. He was kind, constant, correct, and considerate: a bourgeois Jew.” Yes a Jew..I bet you did not know that.I rest my case.

si potrebbe fare un caso che a lei piace rosso-you could make a case that she likes red

The March issue it is interesting, and it will help in the upcoming IPO(Initial Public Offering) for Prada. The praise is well deserved , and I love the comparison to The Alchemist:
Inside the issue, Lily Donaldson, Jourdan Dunn and Sasha Pivovarova model the new season's freshest trends - from sophisticated sportswear to colour-blocking; Miuccia Prada's incredible ability to turn any trend into fashion gold is explored in The Alchemist; whilst More Dash Than Cash gives a step-by-step guide to mastering denim this season.

It's always amazing to see entrepreneurs take advantage of an arbitrage opportunity(a la Ivan Boesky)—and beat Apple's supply chain in the process. Clearly, there are some people who are willing to pay $2,000 to have an iPad 2 right now and these scalpers are catering to that demand. Scrappy traders have been a source of wealth for China for millenia and there's poetic justice in them bringing the iPad 2 back to China where it is made. Kudos!
And if you're angry that you can't get an iPad 2 right this instant and are unwilling to pay the market price (these traders are, after all, matching supply and demand, so it is a market), take a deep breath and relax. Believe it or not, it's not the worst thing in the world.

Focaccia  is a flat oven-baked Italian bread, which may be topped with herbs or other ingredients.
Focaccia is related to pizza, but not considered to be the same.
Focaccia is quite popular in Italy and is usually seasoned with olive oil ...and is one of my favorites.

My Parting Shots:

The Chinese say " May you live in interesting times" and I do(smiles)

Interesting, today I found out I have twins following my blog, they are identical twins, so I am curious if their take of my blog will also be similar!!!!

The Richest Jews in the World
Sorry JG, you didn’t make the list...I know and I am heartbroken(smiles)  Same top-ranked Jew—Oracle magnate Larry Ellison, who moved up one spot, to fifth, and shot from net worth of $28 billion to $39.5 billion (a recovering economy will do that, I guess). After this I feel like I have nothing(smiles)..I will survive ...I am sure(smiles)!!!!

Prince Al Walid Bin Talal Bin Al Saud Bin Adbul Aziz - the Amir himself is having this tower built, it is obvious he is doubling down to make sure no one has any ideas on topping his towering tower...looks like Babel to me(smiles)..I did tell him and he smiled!!!! he, like JG, does have a sense of humor!!!
