This Wednesday evening (October 8), Jews throughout the world will begin the nine-day long "time of our joy," encompassing the festivals of Sukkot and Simchat Torah. We sit in the sukkah to celebrate the warm embrace of G-d's love and care for us, take the four kinds to celebrate our unity as a people, and participate in the nightly beit hashoeva festivities celebrating the power of song and dance — to transform ourselves and our world for the better.

I watched with my Japanese friend on television the film "The Red Shoes" and
it was a fantastic film....the main character is a British beauty, Moira Shearer, Lady Kennedy that took my breath away......this is a film everyone must watch ....the film dates to 1948////and my Japanese friend got so emotional that she cried....such was the impact....
and this is the perfect combination I always preach....all black with brown
shoes....it looks fab.....

Eleven American pageant winners toured Israel last week, visiting the usual array of sites, from the Old City of Jerusalem and the Dead Sea to Yad Vashem, Christian sites in Nazareth and the Galilee, and, given the recent events of the summer, Sderot and Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon.
They also met with IDF soldiers, members of Knesset, start-up executives and female leaders.
“Of all of the travels I have been lucky enough to enjoy, I know this will be the most life-changing. I am so grateful to be here,” said Mallory Hagan, Miss America 2013.
