Wishing you well over the fast.
May your name be inscribed in The Book of Life

Today we usher in the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. It is a day of personal soul
searching and repentance, which we are told seals our fates for the year ahead.
If we have repented and prayed in earnest (and made things right with our fellow
human beings, and given charity), by the time the Gates of Repentance close,
we can rejoice that we will have been forgiven.
We unconditionally forgive anyone who may have wronged us during this year, and
we ask forgiveness for anyone we may have wronged as well.
May you be sealed in the book of life for a happy and healthy New Year.

"The French don't like the Germans. It's heritage that they don't
like us. We look ugly, in their opinion—we look fat and not stylish."

There are people we meet in life who miss being important to us by inches ,days, or
heartbeats.
heartbeats.
When people hear the word “romance” they tend to run for the hills. Being romantic can be difficult for some, and for others perhaps they have too much expectations as to what “romance” really means. I want to be like Bogart and Bacall they really had it......

a little take on Japan-日本,
Is the correct Japanese word “sabishi”, or “samishi”? Both words mean lonesome
or lonely in Japanese. Usually they should be 寂(さび)しい "sabishi-i" or 淋(さみ)しい
"samishi-i." Notice double "i" in the end of the words.

Someone asked me this question?
What is the difference between a Jew, a Hebrew, an Israeli and a semitic person?
The words are not interchangeable, and don't mean the same thing. They are not considered offensive when used in proper context -- but then, you can say that about almost any word, can't you?
Jew refers to religion. Hebrew is a language and is also used to refer to people who speak that language. An Israeli is a resident of Israel (All Israeli's are not Jewish) and Semitic refers to a race of people. Traditionally, the Semites are people who are descendants of Shem (book of Genesis) and this includes the Hebrews, Arameans, Phoenicians, Arabs and Assyrians.
