Elle n’a peut-être que 18 ans, mais à l’époque des photos photoshoppées et hyper-retouchées,Bella Hadid force le respect.

Je vous rassure, je ne suis pas accro aux people de la télé-réalité, et ce n’est pas de voir une fille de 18 ans en sous-vêtements qui m’a bluffée…Ce qui m’a séduite, c’est le slogan “No Makeup, No Retouching, Just Me” (Pas de make-up, pas de retouches, juste moi). Sans parler de son corps sublime avec des formes qui nous ramènent à la grande époque des Cindy et Claudia.

Du coup, je m’interroge, assisterait-on à un retour de la tendance « au naturel » ?

Bear with me, I’m not on the reality-star-cum-celebrity-children train – and I wasn’t astounded to see an 18 year old in underwear… But the byline “No Makeup, No Retouching, Just Me” kind of got, well, me. And she has a bod – curves and all, reminiscent of the Cindys and Claudias of times past.

It has me wondering, is au naturel trending?

The other day, I walked into a bookstore and skimmed over the recommended reads. On one book was a note from the store owner that read, “If you give this book a chance, it will change your life.” It seemed like a huge claim for a book I’ve never heard of (I’m a big reader), so of course I had to buy it and read it immediately.

I blazed through the book, My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante, in a few days. Couldn’t — wouldn’t — put it down. 

Take me there....I did and you loved it(smiles)

The April issue of Vogue Paris will be out later this week but, here is an image from a story by Glen Luchford that looks simply beautiful.

Well it’s no secret Matryoshkas you can obviously tell that I loooveee Russian Fashion Designers, and their Russian Fashion Houses. They aim to impress, pouring their hearts into their work, giving the Italian and French Fashion Houses solid competition. Russians are explosive in the fashion world, they may have had a backseat, but the extra time has given these designers a desire to impress.

Yulia Yanina’s collections are known for luxury, she has revived the technique of garnishing quality made creations with embroidery and beading, her designs can be described as “parisian from the fifties”(plus her stuff is hand made!).

Yulia’s career started off with her working as a tailor, soon after she attended Moscow’s Institute of Textile Industry,- and by 1993 Yulia’s brand became so popular she had politicians, celebrities and jet setters lining up to be her cliental. Yulia is a vital contributor to Russia’s fashion industry, and is one of my favourite Russian (Haute Couture) designers, and did I mention she also makes wedding dresses! ;)

plastic surgery (facelift)  is to restore a more youthful face but more important is to have a Dr give your face a natural appearance, not a pulled and stretched tunnel look.

Fashion should make life easier.
Style should be an easy start to the day not an unfamiliar pest that nags and won’t leave us alone. Knowing our style means that fashion becomes a true friend not an antagonist.

Style is never about age.
There is no such thing as “dressing your age”. That expression should be expunged forever. Attitude is the only thing that counts.

Style is timeless.
What we wear over the years should not alter greatly once we have found our stride. Updating key pieces and adding current accessories makes essentials the true winners.

Know your colour.


Style should be comfortable.
Comfort means you feel great; feeling great means you look great. If we feel comfortable in our clothes chances are that our confidence is spiking. Win/win.

Style should never overpower the woman.
Remember we wear the clothes, they don’t wear us. Never, ever.
