Sometimes I think London specialises in white cloud. But I love the city.

I write often about the concept of 国民性 kokumin-sei, a word which can be translated as "national character," and one thing I like about the Japanese is their tendency towards 謙遜 ken-son (pronounced with a long second syllable, rhyming with "bone"), meaning "humility."

Why I write often in many languages?. because I think, speak and express myself in many languages.........and there are certain words, passages, sentences that if translated into English would lose their original meaning. Is like Eros Ramazzotti singing in Spanish " Più Bella Cosa" it loses the essence when Italian is the original....or Roberto Carlos singing "Amor Perfeito" in another language when Portugese is it , it loses meaning too.....and so on with other languages and artists.

Money, brings "a false sense of security. Sometimes you have so much money you believe you can't even die[sic}....

This tactic is back....and I am all for it.....if Barack Hussein Obama and his cohorts are plundering the taxpayers money this is more legal than most......(see below)

“Ladies are not born, they are made” This particular quote has been haunting me as of late, and when I think of modern day ladies, Ulyana Sergeenko is the first one to pop into my mind. I have never met Ulyana, but I’m often left with an impression that she is today’s example of a modern lady. With her reputation for being Fashion Royalty, (mind you the Russian couturier has been called ‘The Red Queen’) the title can’t only be accredited to her eye for the elaborate, or theatrical sense of style. It’s both her elegance, and poise that resonates with the photographers’ cameras. And MANY may be envious of her always expanding wardrobe, but I admire the way she carries herself more

Being ladylike fascinates, and inspires many women. And, if being ladylike has been forgotten in modern times, the lesson that should be revived, in regards to fashion is what a difference posing with elegance can make. (ahem just do a google search of Ulyana Sergeenko) Which reminds me of that saying of being swallowed in ones clothing: that you want to look like you’re wearing the clothing not that your clothes are wearing you. Sometimes a little Elegance goes a long way. So the next time that you have an event to attend, elegance combined with confidence might be that perfect ‘Accessory’ you’re looking for. That’s one of the best lessons a lady can offer.

As for manners and etiquette, these are things that should not be overlooked, or forgotten in our day to day lives. Even when life decides to be hectic, a little bit of manners and etiquette can go a long way to making the world a better place.

 She is so cute! Everything about her is just perfect. Her hair in that strange knitted style is so cool and is a marvellously refreshing pairing, a sort of counterpoint to the "polished Shanghai" vibe of her dress. What makes the outfit especially great is those blockish sandals, soo unlike the dainty things coming down the Vuitton runway. She abstracted the black lines into geometric shapes and didn't aim for continuity which is wonderful! Her style has so much personality in it and she can wear anything and make it hers. Today you see so many people dressing better yet so many look indistinguishable from each other so it's always great to see people like Claire who really have fun with fashion their own way.

a little take on Japan-日本,

the way to express "smart" in Japanese is 頭がいい atama ga ii, literally meaning "your head is good." Naturally there are other phrases centered around the word head, such as 頭が悪い atama ga warui, or "bad head," meaning stupid; 頭が固い atama ga katai, using "your head is hard" to express stubbornness; 頭が柔らかい atama ga yawarakai ("your head is soft") to represent someone who is flexible and open-minded; and 頭が古い atama ga furui, lit.
