Nouveau Riche & Old Money

Russian Oligarchs are famous for being nouveau riche

Most everyone has heard the expression of Nouveau Riche people and people with old money. What does it mean exactly.

This french term means “New Rich” and describes people who acquired their wealth within their own generations. They usually come from middle or working class families, and have worked their way up. Nouveau Riche men & women are known for splurging around with their money, showing off and buying many status symbols in order to be seen as a different class compared to the one they originally came from.

Old Money

This is the opposite of Nouveau Riche, as the naming = this means old inherited status & money. They are known for being elitists, looking down on the Nouveau Riche and claiming “they lack the proper pedigree”. Old money people tend to stick together and not often mix with others. They marry within “their circle” to keep as they say “the pedigree noble”. Some people see them as typical aristocrats, but I’d say their more adaptable to their wealth, take it more for granted and don’t really show off as for them luxury was in their upbringing.

How Alan Jackson got through that song without shedding a tear is remarkable. He performed that song with so much respect and love for his friend and idol - there probably wasn't a dry eye in the house. He did it well and did George and his loved ones very proud. If I were a betting woman, I'd say a tear may have slid down his cheek, too, when he turned his back and walked away. Thank you.

While watching the UEFA Euro 2016 on television.....what strikes besides the game is
the playing of the national anthems....and my three favorite anthems of Europe....

La Marseillaise my late Paris born father was always proud to hear it played
and really is so beautiful sounding

The Russian anthem is so beautiful too......

and the melody and the lyrics are wow.

and while on the subject of the English football team.....I am not a fan of hair transplants
for I feel they do not give you volume or restore your hair like when you were young....
I believe in the Fleming-Mayer hair flap....however I have to admit that Wayne Rooney's
hair transplant is not bad....and kudos to the Doctor that performed the hair transplant.
