What is Sukkot?
Sukkot is known as the “Festival of Tabernacles” and the “Feast of Booths.” It is one ofJudaism’s three central pilgrimage festivals, along with Passover and Shavuot.
What are some Sukkot customs and practices?
It is traditional to build a sukkah, a temporary hut to dwell in during the holiday.

It is the custom to buy a lulav and etrog and shake them daily throughout the festival.

In the times of the Temple, Sukkot was also the time of a water-drawing ceremony, a wonderfully joyous and upbeat celebration.

If you know me and if you follow this blog you know that I am always touting Bal Harbour Shops and its surroundings...

About ten miles north of busy South Beach are the small towns of Bal Harbour and Surfside.  Bal Harbour is known for its luxurious shopping and exquisite dining while Surfside is more casual and family-friendly.  These oceanfront towns have a strong sense of community. Vintage homes and oceanfront condos are mixed together in a tranquil neighborhood setting with plenty of entertainment options in town.

Even the parking lot is a showroom.

And she is one of my constant companions as like me she loves the Bal Harbour Shops(smiles)

Though Surfside may seem so casual, residents still live in luxury.

and for Shabbat and any other day I never miss coming to my favorite Kosher Bakery

What simple magnificent grace their music was. Now we live in a world where the pants of star performers are falling down. Drug fueled suicides, overdoses and starlets who shake their half-naked bottoms because SPECTACLE has suddenly become more important than substance. This cocktail of obscenity filled lyrics and Gangsta references to guns and sex have most of us reeling with disgust. Not in shock, disgust.
