THE Tunisian-born couturier Azzedine Alaïa has died in Paris at the age of 77. The Sphinx-like designer, once dubbed "the King of Cling", was highly revered for his garments that molded the body into extraordinary proportions, the product of an obsessive craftsman who bears more resemblance to a sculptor than a fashion designer.
The greatest couturier, he focused on understanding and enhancing the beauty of women all his career. You gave WOMEN power. So much admiration and inspiration, merci Azzedine 🖤 RIP

I met Azzedine in Paris years ago at the Dior fashion show with John Galliano, he was such a sweet and shy person... but such a powerful creator. Everyone in the industry loved him. RIP idol

Ladies I have been told this by lots of women and i subscribe to it:
When you slip on an Alaïa creation, you turn into the most powerful and confident version of yourself. Similar to the way his designs make you feel special and embraced, his energy had the same affect.

Sometimes enough is never enough and oftentimes enough should be enough.

(Fun fact: 六本木 Roppingi means "six trees.") Foreigners are likely to use this word when counting chopsticks, since they're the right shape, but the counter for a pair of chopsticks is actually 善 zen, a word which Japanese themselves are often too lazy to use. Being a foreigner(Gaijin), I always go out of my way to use the correct counting word, saying something like お箸、一膳もらえますか？o-hashi, ichi-zen moraemasu ka? ("could I have a pair of chopsticks?"), mainly because Japanese don't expect gaijin to get this word right and I like to surprise them.
