A friend asked me if i miss Miami Beach....my answer is no, we will be back in October when is the best time to be there....if you know...October to February is the best time to be there.....very few hoi polloi..........and i am always raving about Bal Harbour and Surfside........

This little ocean side town north of Miami Beach was until recently the last vestige of "old" Miami Beach. And although Jewish delis, ice cream shops, and art deco structures still line Harding Avenue from 88th to 96th Streets, a wave of new development has made this the coolest new beach in South Florida. A new Four Seasons opened this spring around the historical Surf Club, a Mediterranean-revival villa built in the 1930s by Harvey Firestone. It's now the centerpiece of the new resort, which along with the new FENDI Chateau have brought an upscale vibe to Surfside.

Over the years I've learned a few things about the Japanese people. They are hardworking, honest and very punctual. They also love to line up for things. If a Japanese person is walking down the street and sees people lined up to buy something -- takoyaki or Belgian waffles perhaps -- there's a good chance they'll stop what they were doing and get in line, too. It seems there's something innately fun about standing in line to buy something, and the general rule is that the longer the wait at a restaurant is, the better the food will be -- and if no customers are waiting to eat, it's a sign that the food isn't very good. (Similarly, Japanese will avoid going to a restaurant that only has a few cars in the parking lot, but are happy to stop if the parking lot is full of cars.)

1. The White Shirt

A white button down shirt in crisp cotton, style determined by body proportions and your comfort, never, ever fails.

2. The Black Pants

Ladies you can never have too many and never underestimate the power of a well fitting black pant.

The white shirt worn over or tucked into the black pants means you can be dressed for anywhere at any time. Add sneakers or espadrilles  or a pair of heels for the evening. This is a no-brainer, tried and tested outfit.

3. The Sunglasses

You are thinking sunglasses are a strange choice for 3/3. I promise, the right sunglasses are game changers.

Why do so many famous French women wear big black specs for photographs? The answer is simple; they take years off their age. Sunglasses elevate the simple black and white pieces to the next level.
