Pesach everywhere!!

Matzos Coffee, also known as Matza Café, is a European Passover treat that has become forgotten for reasons I can’t fathom, since not only is this dish deceptively simple—it’s really nothing more than its name, matzoh soaked in coffee—it’s delicious and especially loved by children.

"Long before Tom Ford and Karl Lagerfeld, Bijan had a keen understanding of the cult of personality in fashion, starring in his own ads and billboards, name-checking countless celebrities and parking exotic cars outside his store, all to stoke his fame"

Iranian American designer Bijan Pakzad opened his appointment-only boutique on Rodeo Drive in 1976. It became known for its ultra luxury goods such as $ 6,000 suits and $ 19,000 ostrich vests.
Pakzad died in 2011 but left a lasting imprint on Rodeo Drive, helping to make it a world-class destination.

In my way of thinking, it’s a bit counterintuitive to put oil on my face. However, I’ve been using one from my dermatologist and love the results–I’m a complete convert. I bet Chanel’s Huile de Jasmin is good, too.

This is singularly THE best beauty. And beautifully democratic too. It will happily sit on your shelf alongside any skincare brand - it will not care what class or creed your other favorites.

In respectful remembrance.....if you follow this blog you have heard this song many many times.....my late father would play this song and it stayed in my mind forever...
Another obsession I seem to have acquired is an affinity for collecting different versions of the Sukiyaki Song, the legendary Japanese pop song by Sakamoto Kyuthat reached the #1 spot in the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963. It's not called that in Japan, of course: there the title is 上を見て歩こう ue o mite aruko, meaning "I Look Up As I Walk," and although it's got an addictive toe-tapping beat, it's actually a sad song about a man whose just lost his love and is walking with his face upturned so his tears won't fall. It's sad for another reason: 30 years ago today singer Sakamoto was killed along with 519 others when Japan Airlines Flight 123 suffered a hydraulic failure and crashed into a mountain in  Gunma.

What has literature taught me about love? Literature (along with experience) has taught me that love means different things at different points in our lives, and that often as we get older we gravitate toward the quieter, kinder plotlines, and find them to be richer than we had originally understood them to be.

It's very different being a beauty queen to being a model. A model is selling what they're wearing, a beauty queen is selling herself. It can get very personal

Leather is often connected with rebelliousness and a bit of masculine vibe, but with right outfit it can look rather sexy, elegant, with just a bit of edge. There are a few tips on how to wear leather and look feminine, seductive and even dressy.
Only wear leather items suited for your body type. Because it's form-fitting, every possible flaw will be visible.
Wear just one leather item at a time, possibly two. To avoid looking like a Batman, pick some interesting fabrics to match them with your leather item of choice. Fortunately, as it's a statement itself, it looks spectacular with every possible fabric: lace, tulle, cotton, rayon, chiffon, velvet and even wool! You have plenty options.
Accessorize. As a wardrobe staple and a very versatile fabric, it allows you to add different kinds of accessories to your outfit.

How to Spot Fake Breasts (Because I Know You've Wondered)

No, you'll probably never be called to testify about the contents of that bikini top. But sometimes, and especially on the beach in the summer, you just can't help but wonder: are they or aren't they?

Borderline: Unless they're sitting in one hell of a push-up bra, natural breasts don't have a defined, 360-degree border around the edges. When looking at the right breast, it should only have a border from about four o'clock to eight o'clock.
Gap: Oversize implants can create a wide, bony gap between breasts. "Many surgeons mistakenly put in bigger implants to mask the gap, and it makes it look worse," Teitelbaum explains.
Fall line: When a woman lies on her back, her natural breasts fall slightly to either side. Very large implants, on the other hand, stick up straight.
Side line: When viewed from the side, natural breasts tend to have more volume in their lower half (you can thank gravity for that). Fake breasts often look as full on top as on the bottom.
Pointers: Most nipples point straight ahead or slightly up—but if an implant is too big, it could make the nipples tip downward

Matzo Brei
This is not a food that most people are even aware exists. And just to be clear, for any food snobs, don’t pronounce this “bree” as in brie cheese; it’s not nearly that sophisticated. It’s pronounced “bry” as in “bribe” or, more relevantly, “fry.” Think of it as a kind of Hebraic French toast. Now remove the toast and the maple syrup. My mom ate this as a child; it was a specialty at Ratner’s, but she also made it for me when I was a little boy, and I loved it. We used to eat it together on weekends. She liked it with apple sauce on the side. And sometimes a dollop of sour cream. She also sometimes ate it with a small helping of jam, which she often made herself, from scratch. I usually preferred my fried matzo salty rather than sweet.
