i don’t know about you, but every time i step into a library, i am amazed again and again at how much knowledge is stored in a single building. there is so much to discover in a book; so much intelligence and creativity spilled in the pages and i just want to live long enough to read until i know at least a little bit of everything.

Oui, je sais, c’est une question un peu bizarre et compliquée. Ce qui a trait à la perception qu’on a de soi-même m’a toujours interpellée. Moi, j’aime à croire que je sais comment les autres me perçoivent physiquement, mais en même temps, je me connais tellement bien (je crois que ça vaut pour tout le monde…) qu’une partie de moi pense que je me voie différemment.

I like to think that I have an idea of what I look like to other people, but at the same time, I’m so familiar with myself (as we all are…) that part of me thinks I see myself differently.

a little take on Japan-日本,

 learning Japanese isn't fundamentally harder than any other language, some areas seem difficult for foreigners, like the way Japanese people write kanji for each other by drawing the character in the air -- my brain just isn't equipped to process invisible finger strokes like that. Also, the Japanese like to attach sounds to numbers, for example 084 becomes ohayo (good morning), 3476 is sayonara (goodbye) and 39 is san-kyu (thank you). 

Japanese who all look the same but are かわいい  (Kawaii) in their own way.
