I am often asked why many times in this blog I write and express myself in different languages...for one is because I can(smiles) but here is one other reason. Some things could only be written or expressed in a foreign language; they are not lost in translation, but conceived by it. After all, a foreign language is like art—an alternative reality, a potential world. Once it is discovered, one can no longer go back to monolinguistic existence.

The name is an oxymoron but, unlike the most part of the oxymora that are impossible and infeasible by nature, in this case the two antithetical concepts of baroque and minimal were mixed up together in the marvellous Minimal Baroque sunglasses of Prada. They are so cool thanks to the round and big lens and thanks to the rococo curl that creates a harmonious discontinuity in the curved arm. Innovative in their originality, eccentric in their design, antithetical in their name, they are also chic.

Who doesn’t love a uniform?! I like the Japanese tradition of all wearing uniforms in the
schools- whether public or private!! and the Jap girls, wear them well!!
There are certain things I will never understand about Japan, like their fascination with the number of creases a person has in their eyelids. Eyes that are 二重 futae, with two eyelid creases resulting in a larger "gaijin-style" look, are said to be preferable to 一重 hitoe, eyes with only one eyelid crease creating narrower "Asian" eyes.
