We’re living in an age where perception matters more than before but let’s look at the this exaggeration.....
The above video illustrates just exactly what is wrong with out society and that of the advertising culture in the United States. They take a completely normal looking woman and extenuate her features to make her more appealing to men. This is because our culture has formed a common idea of what “beauty” truly is (tall, skinny, blonde hair, blue eyes) and so to be able to grab the attention of the masses, corporations feel as though when they are using a woman in advertising they need to make her as “perfect” as can be. However, this image of “perfection” is achievable only through the work of photoshop. Yet, most women fail to realize this and so they strive for an unachievable goal, doubting their self image along the way, and that in itself is one of the sadder aspects.
